Can I download Localery yet?
Not yet. We’re preparing the public Mac release. This page gives you an illustrative preview of the idea; there isn’t a public download or App Store release to install today.
What will Localery cost?
Start free. Buy once when you need more. The free edition will include one database, up to 100 rows, Markdown notes, saved views, and full MCP access, with no expiry. Localery Unlimited will unlock unlimited databases and rows for US$19.99 once through an in-app purchase in the Mac App Store. No subscription or separate Localery account. Regional pricing will be shown in the App Store at launch. Any fees charged by your chosen AI provider are separate.
What happens at the free limit?
You’ll still be able to read, edit, delete, export, and back up your records. Upgrade only when you want a second database or more than 100 rows. The same limits will apply to the app, imports, and MCP. Your existing records won’t expire or be deleted.
Will the website download have the same limits?
Yes. We’re planning the same free edition on the website and the Mac App Store: one database, 100 rows, with Markdown, views, and MCP included. Both downloads are still being prepared.
Can my family use it too?
Yes. The Localery Unlimited in-app purchase will support Apple Family Sharing at launch, so the unlock can be shared with up to five other family members in your Family Sharing group. Everyone keeps their own local databases; Family Sharing does not sync or share your records.
What does “local” mean here?
Your databases and notes are stored on your Mac, and the app works offline. You manage your own backups. If you connect an AI tool, it can read or change records through MCP. Data sent to a cloud AI is subject to that provider’s processing and privacy practices.
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol is a way for compatible AI tools to work with other software. In Localery, it lets your chosen tool read and update the same databases you use in the Mac app. Connecting an AI is optional.
What can I organise?
Ideas, books, product research, contacts, small inventories, or a collection of your own. Start with a table, choose its fields, and keep longer Markdown notes inside each record.
